Hi Troop 565 Boys and Families -
Today marks the end of 2011, onward to 2012. It has been a good year for our troop. We have had some fun adventure. Some of the activities stand out in my mind: Klondike sleds and campout, Scout Show hosting Nuclear Science merit badge issued to a record number of boys (about 130), campouts and fishing, the 30 mile bike ride on the Cherry Creek trail through Denver, Summer Camp (and who get forget the tornado, getting caught in all that rain and hail), Personal Management / Stamp Collecting / Automotive Maintenance merit badges taught within our troop, whitewater rafting, Halloween "lock in" and the rocket launch ...
January is "Citizenship Month". We have 3 troop meetings in January to earn 3 Eagle Required merit badges: Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation and Citizenship in the World. January 5, 12, 19. Attend these meetings and 2 field trips in January and you can earn these very important badges. Webelos who particpate can earn these badges after their Crossover. Wow - a huge "jump start"!
Going forward, we will have a lot of adventure and advancement in 2012. Remember to get signed up for summer camp now (camp is July 15 - 21). Ben Delatour Scout Ranch will fill up very soon. You need $50 to sign up.
