Longmont Troop 565
Troop 565 3-Peats at Klondike!
For the third year in a row, Troop 565 has a championship sled at the Klondike Derby! Way to go Scouts!
We are in the midst of our annual re-chartering process. Re-chartering authorizes the troop activities in the Longs Peak Council of the Boy Scouts of America. It also sets our official troop size for the coming year, and affects our FOS goals. Please help us by submitting up-to-date info on you and your scouts as soon as you can.
Renew Your Youth Protection Training
Is Your Youth Protection Training (YPT) up to date? This important training must be completed by every adult leader and all parents who supply 2-deep leadership at scouting events. Once completed, this training must also be renewed every 2 years. YPT is a course you can take online at the Boy Scouts of America website. (Scroll down the page until you find the red "Take Youth Protection Training" button.)
It only takes about 30 minutes, and when complete you can print your completion certificate right away. Please make sure your YPT is current today! And make sure you send a copy of your certificate to Jim Cramer so we can use it with our re-chartering.
We need volunteers!
Our troop needs help. With so many scouts reaching Eagle and then turning 18, we are losing adult volunteers that help run the troop. It takes a lot to maintain a quality Scouting program, but with enough volunteers, it can be done without straining any one person too much. Please consider giving of your time and talent for the benefit of your Scouts. See the Volunteer Opportunities page for details.
